We of course encourage you to enroll for the full Interact 2021 conference, but it is also possible to participate in the workshop without doing so. You can participate either virtually or physically. If you are in doubt that you can attend physically, you can initially register for virtual attendence and then later upgrade to a regular participation (minus the already paid fee).
To participate in the workshop you need to visit the registration section of the Interact 2021 website. The fee for virtual participation in the workshop is only 60€ for early registration. It will be for 80€ later registration. For physical participitation, the figures are 140 and 170€. See the registration section of the Interact 2021 website for the details, dates, etc. The reduced early-bird registration fee ends by July 2nd, so be sure to register in time!
Note! It is not a requirement for participating that you present a paper. However, we will require all non-presenting participants to prepare a one-two pager stating their experiences, interests or views about remote user testing.
Submission types and important dates:
- Full paper: A 4-10 page paper in the regular conference format (see below). Deadline: June 22 (camera ready August 2)
- One/Two pager: Deadline August 15.
To submit a one-pager, a position- or research paper, please email a pdf version to the workshop organisers at the mail address:
remoteusertesting [at] es.aau.dk no later than June 22.
Notice of acceptance will be given shortly thereafter. Note! As the deadline is quite soon, you may also submit an abstract (preferbly before June 11) and we will get back to you with a preliminary response. You will receive a review shortly after your submission and, if accepted, must provide a camera ready version by August 2.
Papers are reviewed according to relevance for the workshop topic and we expect 4-8 pages submissions (like a short paper), although longer papers are accepted as well. Submissions must be within the general area of remote user studies, and can be full or preliminary accounts of remote user studies and experiences, proposals for methodogical approaches, etc. Submission may also be in the form of position papers, intended for stimulating discussions or just a one-pager abstract stating your interests and experiences within the workshop subjects. See the workshop topics for further details.
Note! Submissions for the workshops held in connection with Interact will not be published as part of the regular Interact 2021 proceedings, but will be made available for download for the registered participants (only) on this website prior to the workshop (no later than August 15th). At the workshop we will decide, if some or all of the contributions should be made generally available. This will be up to the individual authors to determine. This way, we ensure that e.g. preliminary work can be submitted to the workshop and receieve feedabck without blocking a later full paper.
If you have any questions about submission or other topics related to the workshop, please don’t hesitate to contact us at the mail address given above.
Format your submission according to Springer LNCS format. Authors should consult Springer’s authors’ guidelines and use their proceedings templates, either for LaTeX or for Word, to prepare their papers. Springer’s proceedings LaTeX templates are also available in Overleaf.
